I fully agree that travelling with a young person with autism IS really worth the effort - we did go armed with a doctor's note explaining his condition and had to make extensive preparations, sent letters, telephoned, talked to people even the crew, but it was worth it just to see his face breakout into a smile. It is worth it, just to see him so happy. By simply just talking about autism to people in the travel industry, you continue to raise awareness of autism at every level...
