Persons with disabilities are NOT excluded from ....

"the general education system on the basis of disability, and that children with disabilities are not excluded from free and compulsory primary education, or from secondary education, on the basis of disability"
Article 24 CONVENTION ON THE RIGHTS OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

Fwd: Débat sur les écoles européennes mercredi 25 mai 10.00-12.00 ASP A3-E3

Dear Phil,

i send you attached a confirmation of the University Aachen, department for child and youth psychiatry, that - exemplatory the case of my son Lucas - an assistant with ABA (applied behaviour analysis)- knowledge is necessary/obligatory school adaptation for children with autism.

I kindly ask you to ensure for the meeting tommorrow in regard of the accessibility at the European School to provide this necessary adaptation (ABA+assistants) for all children with autism in the future: to withhold (like in our own case) such adaptation leads directly to discrimination and exclusion and violates therefore article 24 of the UN convention on the rights of persons with disabilities: the interest of children have a  higher priority than the interest of teacher, who need to implement finally these adaptations in daily school life!

Without these necessary school adaptations (ABA+assistants+adapted learning agenda+small classes) inclusion of disabled gets impossible.
...

Best regards

Wasilios KATSIOULIS
