I would like to invite you all to the extraordinary meeting of the Disability Intergroup that will take place on 28 September 2010 at 14h00-15h00 at the European Parliament in Brussels (room JAN 6Q1), where the Belgian Secretary of State responsible for Persons with Disabilities Mr Jean-Marc Delizée will present the Belgian Presidency plans to advance the rights of persons with disabilities in the EU. This meeting is the part of Disability Intergroup initiative to host regular meetings with the EU Presidency of the moment for more visibility of disability in the Presidency programme.
EDF President Yannis Vardakastanis will also be speaking at the event. We will also have an opportunity to get a taste of the incoming Hungarian Presidency plans and get an update about the implementation of the Europe2020 agenda.
If you would like to attend the meeting, please contact our assistant Delphine le Maire (firstname.lastname@example.org) before 23 September. If you require a visitor’s pass, please indicate your birthdate and place of residence. Please note that late registrations will not be accepted, as the European Parliament needs to have the list of people who require a visitor’s pass in advance.
I would like to take this opportunity to inform you that the following events have already been scheduled for the near future:
25 November – Disability Intergroup meeting, Strasbourg
24 January – Disability Intergroup New Year’s cocktail, Brussels
There is probably going to be an extraordinary meeting of the Intergroup on the Disability Strategy 2011-2020 in late October-early November, but the exact date of it will depend on the timing of the release of the Strategy by the European Commission. You will be kept informed.
Looking forward to seeing many of you at the European Parliament on 28 September,
