"I am on occupational therapist at an inclusion-based pre-school, and the benefits to these children are undeniable. There are 8 slots in the "regular ed" setting of the classroom for children with ESE lables (LI, SI, DD, ASD, etc.). The whole "least restrictive environment" has to come back to the ESE process.....there initially may be more "work" involved to include these students (visual schedules, timers, incorporation of movement breaks, adapted seating systems...), but the pay-off is significant."
